[This petition is badly damaged] John Palmere of Dagenham, cordwainer, states that he recovered before Robert de Thorp and his companions, justices, four-fifths of five messuages . . . with the appurtenances in Dagenham, against Thomas Danyel the elder and Denise his wife, Geoffrey Chapman, Thomas Dyere, Gilbert Erl, draper of Dagenham, and that he was seised of these tenements until the same people wrongfully expelled him a second time, by means of a false inquest held at Barking before William Leyre, sheriff of Essex and John de la Rokele and John Waleys, coroners of the said county. John requests grace and a remedy for these great wrongs.
