Nature of request
Geoffrey de Langgel the elder states that the free tenants of Stivichall have acquired a justice to take an assize of common pasture concerning some ploughland that is of his demesne. He claims that this justice is too favourable to the tenants, and asks that Gilbert de Prestona might be associated with him, so that he cannot take the assize without him, and asks that the king's writs might be sent both to Gilbert and to the justice.
