Nature of request
The people of Combe and of six vills pertaining to the manor of Woodstock complain about the great wrongs done to them by Robert, the king's bailiff of Woodstock, to the king's great shame and their damage of £100. They state that the bearer of this petition will give the king the details orally; and that this is true Robert Crups pledges his goods, mobile and immobile, and his life. They ask that this matter might be swiftly tried by a good jury.
