Elmede requests a commission to arrest Hunt, Varell, Peysour and Cokeworthy who, with Lucy, claimed to have the King's commission to enter his lands at Holcombe, Cornworthy, Treworgy, Ladock and Treenthast, to arrest Elmede and his servants and to behead them, and who came with 120 men at arms and archers and entered the said lands, destroying them, and beating the tenants. Elmede was delivered the manor of Holcombe and land in Cornworthy by the sheriff of Devon, and the manors of Treworgy, Ladock and Treenthast by the sheriff of Cornwall to hold until Lucy and John Kendale pay him the £120 which they owe him, with costs and expenses.
