Nature of request
Pole states that in the time of Edward II Charlton ejected him by force from his lands of Deuddwr and Mechain Is Coed in Powys, held of the King in chief, and of which he had been seised for forty years and more. He complained to Edward II and his council, and was given deliverance of his lands; but Charlton, on Mortimer's advice, has forcibly disseised him of them again, on the morrow of Martinmas three years ago. He requests a remedy, that he might have delivery of his lands with the issues in the meantime and his damages.
