Nature of request
Lancastre makes three requests.1) He asks that the licence granted for himself and twelve persons to enter Calais and stay there, be extended to include servants for each person.2) He asks that the keeper of the privy seal make warrant to the chancellor from time to time for the protection with clause volumus granted to the men in his company.3) He asks for licence to go overseas from any port with a maximum of 200 persons, £1000 for expenses, all his gold, gilt and silver vessels and all his other jewels, horses, equipment and other things necessary to his estate, and that the 200 people travelling with him may do likewise.
Nature of endorsement
[On face] 1) [No response].2) The King grants it and that it should say in their protections who is going overseas at the King's command.3) The King has granted that the Duke should leave from the port of Dover with 200 persons or less, £1000 for expenses, all his gold, gilt and silver vessels and all his other jewels, horses, equipment and other necessary things.
