Nature of request
The commons requests that the seneschal of Guyenne and mayor and jurats of Bordeaux be ordered by letters of privy seal to issue an ordinance that everywhere where wine is made there shall be certain sufficient and knowledgeable persons appointed to examine, check, inspect and label all wine for selling overseas, on pain of forfeiture of all unlabelled wine to the king's use.
