Nature of request
The prioress of Thetford requests that a writ be directed to Wychyngham to come before the chancellor to answer for his actions. About 26 years ago Wychyngham and others now dead were enfeoffed in the manor of Westhall for the purposing of performing Empole's last will, namely that the manor be amortised to the nuns or sold to their use and profit. During all this time Wychyngham kept the profits to his use, and has now sold the manor and kept the money from the sale also.
Nature of endorsement
On 15 May in the 1st year at Westminster it was granted that a writ be directed to Wychyngham to come before the King's council on the quinzaine of the Trinity next to answer what will be asked him and to further do etc. on pain of £100. Those present: the Duke of Exeter; the archbishop of Canterbury; the bishops of Winchester and Worcester; the earl of Warwick; FitzHugh; Cromwell; Tiptoft; the chancellor and treasurer.
