Nature of request
[Left-hand side damaged and partly missing] The petitioners request that the commons present their petition to the King. They previously delivered various sums of gold and silver of old money, amounting to £585 18s 4d, to Garner, and request restitution of their money in new coins. They have letters sealed by either Garner or Whitberd witnessing the receipt of these sums, but before they could be repaid, all the goods and money in Garner's possession were seised into the King's hand by the earl of Arundel.
