Roger Oliver requests that a writ be directed to his father, John, to come before the council so that he can be examined and justice done concerning a statute by which Roger, who borrowed £12 from his father, bound himself in £100. His father refused repayment of the said £12 and, because Roger recognised the marriage of Holewell and his sister Joan against the father's will, John demanded the said £100 and imprisoned Roger for non-payment.
Nature of endorsement
On 2 October in the 7th year etc., with the archbishop of Canterbury, the bishops of Winchester, Worcester, Bath and Carlisle, the earl of Suffolk, Lord Roos, Lord Bergevenny, the chancellor and the keeper of the privy seal present in the council at Worcester, it was agreed that a writ be made to Oliver to be before the council at Westminster on the quinzaine of Michaelmas next to answer the matters contained within.
