Description

This series consists of a sample of cases relating to applications to a judge in chambers for bail through the Official Solicitor. In addition to related correspondence and a note of the judge's decision, the applications are usually accompanied by a report from the police, giving details of the offence for which the applicant was remanded and indicating whether or not objection was taken to bail.

From 1972 until 1977 the records are grouped for each year under their former numerical references. Thereafter, each application is listed individually, and the name of the applicant and the former departmental reference to his case is also given.
