Nature of request
William de Burgh states that the king has granted him by his letters patent an annuity of £16 21d. to be received from the hands of the Sheriff of Leicestershire at Michaelmas and Easter in equal portions, and a further annuity of £20 from the Sheriff of Leicestershire and Warwickshire for him and his wife, to replace a grant from Richard II. He asks that the sheriffs might have an allowance at the Exchequer for these sums, and that the Chancellor might be ordered to send them the necessary writs.
