Nature of request
The petition states that the king owes a certain sum of money to Martin de Grascherch, formerly citizen of London, and the king, before he went to the Holy Land, assigned John de Lundres and Gregory de Rokesle to pay this debt and others; but they only assigned him things of little value in payment, which he did not wish to take; so the debt remained unpaid. Clemence states that she has nothing from which to pay her father's debts, and nothing remains in the hands of the executors, except this debt. She asks that she might have a good assignment and justice.
