Nature of request
Mounfrere de Sivill states that he was bringing his ship, laden with wine of La Rochelle, to Courtrai, when he was attacked and robbed by a ship from England (or Ireland - he does not know which) carrying wine from Bordeaux. He requests justice and a remedy, for God and for the love of the King of Spain his lord. He further states that Johannot le Carpenter of Lostwithiel, bailiff of the sea, knows who the malefactors are, as three of them fled to land, and Mounfrere asked him especially to attach them, but he would do nothing, but let them go.
Nature of endorsement
A commission is to be granted to Ralph Bloyou, John Petit and John Billoun, to inquire into the robbery and to do swift justice; and if they find any of the goods, the are to have them delievered [to the petitioner], in whosesoever hands they are.[A deleted endorsement below mentions a commission to be made to William de Shareshull and others.]
