- The petition asks that those who are charged with the business mentioned below are advised on the points listed here before their going.1) To continue the request previously made to the King of France concerning the annulment or repeal of the defaults in which the King was put in the [parlements] of the King of France, and concerning clarification of persons and causes and other necessary circumstances, so that profitable letters may be purchased for the King.2) The cases pending against the King in the court of France, in which the King is put in default, are so hopeless, that all advocates who have knowledge of the custom of the said court are unanimous in refusing to take them on.3) Or in arbitration before commissaries chosen on the one side and the other according to the form of the peace and accords made between the ancestors of the King and the ancestors of the King of France, which the two kings have promised to uphold.
