Nature of request
John de Osyoun, merchant of Bazas, states that Walter de Waldesshef, formerly the king's butler, seized twenty-four tuns of his wine in the king's name in Ipswich, five years ago at the next mid Lent. At the request of Roger de Winkefeld, he allowed John to sell twelve of these, but kept the other twelve until twenty days after Michaelmas; and John could not have deliverance of them, or permission to sell them, so that he could only get 1 mark a tun for them, whereas he would initially have got 7. He requests a remedy and justice for his damages.

He is to have a writ under the great seal to have the aforesaid Walter come before the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer, to answer concerning the contents of the petition, because the aforesaid Walter [was] a minister of the king [etc.]
