Nature of request
John le Crumpur states that he has served the king in Wales, Flanders, and Scotland, and that his wages are in arrears to the sum of 60 marks. He requests a site which is of no use to the king, outside the wall of St Paul's in Paternoster Street, which is within the king's gift, for himself, his heirs and his assigns.
Nature of endorsement
The Mayor and Sheriffs of London are to be ordered by writ of Chancery to inquire what that site is that he requests by this petition, and if it is to the king's harm or that of his city of London if he grants the petitioner that site with the customary articles etc. And they are to return the said inquisition before the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer, and they are further to do what seems to them is to be done.
