[This petition is damaged] To our lord the king and to his council Gaucem Pagan, citizen of [Bordeaux (?)], prays that whereas the sheriffs of London, by a writ of the father of our [lord the] king, in the fifteenth year of his reign, at the suit of the said Gaucem, arrested the goods of Gyselin atte Sande, merchant of Ghent, in the hands of . . . of Abyndon and John Simeon, merchants of London, £273 14s., and in the hands of Simon de Abyndon, merchant of . . . to free the said Gaucem from the harm done to him by people of the power of the Count of Flanders, as is fully contained . . . then made by the said sheriffs concerning this in Chancery, and the said Gaucem is not yet freed from harm. May it please our said lord . . . the said process, the said Gaucem might be freed from harm according to the law or custom in use in Chancery in the time of the . . .
