Nature of request
Laurence Delmham states that he was barber to the king's father for twenty-six years and more, and that the late king gave him, in return for his service, the stewardship of the Forest of Galtres near York, for term of life. He held it until he was expelled, through procurement and without reason, and replaced with a man who had done nothing to serve the king or his father. He asks that he might have his bailiwick back.

This petition is to be sent before the king, and he is to show his charter there; and when those who are to be called have been called, and the arguments have been heard, justice is to be done.
