Name(s)
Darreyns (Darras), Alyne
Addressees

Nature of request
Alyne, widow of Robert Darreyns, formerly Sheriff of Northumberland, states that she was married to her husband long before he became Sheriff, and that all Robert's lands and tenements have now been seized into the king's hand by the Sheriff of Northumberland, because of a debt owed by Robert from the time when he was Sheriff. She asks that she might have her dower from these lands, as law and reason demands, as she has nothing else on which to live.
Nature of endorsement
A writ is to be sent to the Escheator to inquire into from what lords the land is held, and when the lords have been called, the wife is to be dowered from the tenements of which her said husband was seised.
Places mentioned
Northumberland.
People mentioned

The petition probably dates from this period.
