Nature of request
[A section of this petition is missing from the right side.]William le Baud states that his lands and tenements have been taken into the king's hand because he was of the quarrel of the Earl of Lancaster, and he has been imprisoned and his goods seized into the king's hand. He requests restitution of his lands and tenements, with the goods found there, and the issues in the mean time.
Nature of endorsement
This petition is to be sent to Chancery, and when the Chancellor has been advised of the reason for the taking of the lands and tenements contained in this petition into the king's hand, and if they were taken into the king's hand because of the quarrel etc., and not for any other reason, the lands and tenements are to be restored with the issues and arrears etc., with which the king has not been served.
