Nature of request
The petitioners state that various sums are due to them for their wages and in the late war and for the valuations of lands [that they have lost], for which they have letters patent under the great seal of the late king, assigning them these sums on the issues of Gascony, at the hands of the Constable of Bordeaux for the time being. These sums have not been fully paid to everyone in this case, and they ask that their letters might be renewed, and that they might have a letter to the Constable of Bordeaux for the time being, to give them payment or an assignment where it is convenient, so that they and others might have a better will to serve the king by the example.
