Nature of request
Walter Fouk and Lucy Malemais, executors of Agnes Burdon, widow of John Burdon, formerly Keeper of Berwick, ask that the Treasurer might be ordered to deliver to them the arrears of 20 marks per annum owed to Agnes for her sustenance, as the king and council ordered at the last parliament at York. They state that this money was in arrears for a year and a quarter before Agnes died, and that she had nothing on which to live, except the money Walter and Lucy borrowed for her from other poor people, who now have to be paid. Walter and Lucy have sold and pledged all they have to pay this debt, and request help, for the love of God and for the soul of the king's father.
