Nature of request
Alan de Gissyngges asks, for the soul of the king's father, that he might have a writ to John de Cave, Hugh de Prestwold, and Thomas de Thorp, or two of them, to hear and determine a plea of trespass committed against Alan by John de Normanton, Robin le Keu of Allexton, John le Smyth of Allexton, John de Blaston of Hallaton, Geoffrey de Radeclyve of Hallaton and John le Tornour of Allexton, who assaulted him at Hallaton, and beat, wounded and ill-treated him, so that his life was despaired of, stole his goods and chattels to the sum of £20, and beat, wounded and ill-treated Robert de Merston his man, so that Alan was deprived of his service for a long time.

Because it is attested that he is a poor man, he is to have a writ of oyer et terminer, according to the form of the petition, for God.
