- The community of the counties of Somerset and Wiltshire complain that a river called the Avon, that runs between Bath and Bristol is more obstructed than usual by various gorces: so that the meadows and pastures beside the river are destroyed, and victuals cannot be carried by river between Bath and Bristol, with the result that they have become more expensive, than they should be, to the harm of the people. They request a remedy.
