Nature of request
Letter to the king from the jurats and community of Saint-Macaire, stating that they have seen and examined the king's letters patent, granting Peter de Martelliaco the castle and castellany of Saint-Macaire at pleasure, but that they understand from certain people that he is to be removed. They state that he is suitable, and ask that he might be confirmed in this office, and no-one else appointed while he shows himself fit.

Letter dated the Tuesday after the Purification. The castle and castellany of Saint-Macaire were granted to Peter de Martelliaco on 10 July 1331 (Carte, vol. I p.76), on 12 August 1333 (Carte, vol. I p. 80) and on 18 July 1341 (Carte, vol. I p.107). This petition most probably dates to 1333.
