- Arnaudin (Arnold, Arnaut) de Brocas, bailli of Villereal in Agenais, states that he has held Villereal at farm for £300 of petty tournois, at the request of Anthony Pessayne, and that Anthony ought to warrant him against damage, and that he then held it for the same sum during the time of William de Montagu, although it is only worth £200 of petty tournois, as a letter under the common seal of Villereal attests; but William de Montagu promised him that he would not be the loser through taking it at such a high price. He asks that he might be restored the £200 that he has lost by reason of his service, and that this bailiwick might be warranted to him for £200 of petty tournois annually, at pleasure.
