Nature of request
[These petitions are hard to read, due to conservation work.] Galhard, Lord of Baye complains that the people of Bonnegarde stole some cows belonging to his wife there, and that before she and her ministers could have deliverance of these beasts, some money was taken and one of them was eaten. He asks that the Seneschal of Gascony might be ordered to give her compensation for the money and the cow and for her damages.The people of Aspe state that they have served the king loyally in the war in Gascony, and that the Vicomte of Tartas, the Lord of Navailles, the Lord of Tilh, the people of Bonnegarde and others are enclosing and encroaching on their pasture land, of which they have been in seisin since time immemorial. They ask the king to order his Seneschal to inquire into the truth of the matter and to do justice, and to destroy all such hindrances.
