Description
Petitioners
Isabella de Luda, widow of Jaufre Rudel, Lord of Blaye.
Name(s)
de Luda, Isabella
Addressees
King.
Nature of request
Isabella de Luda, widow of Jaufre Rudel, Lord of Blaye, make two requests:1) She states that she gave everything she had, in dower or otherwise, in the lands of her husband to the king's father, and that because of that gift, Anthony Pysaigne, when he was Seneschal of Gascony, promised her £3000 tournois, and in the meantime, £300 of the same money annually until she was provided with the £3000. She has received nothing of either sum, and asks that the Seneschal and Constable might be ordered to pay her the £3000 in full, and the arrears of the £300.2) She states that in this last war she has lost £300 tournois of annual rent, seized by the people of the King of France, and has nothing from which to live or to maintain her estate. She asks that she might be given the lands of the Lord of Ambleville in the honour of Bourg and Blaye, and the lands of Aicard de Saye in the Blayais.
Nature of endorsement
The king has ordained that certain great people will be sent quickly with full power to do the things which are appropriate and profitable for himself and his subjects; and the king will order them that, when they have informed themselves of his losses, they are to give him such recompense as is appropriate and as might reasonably suffice.
