He is greatly impoverished and requests some aid to recover his estate.2) He states that he was the king's comptroller of the customs of Marmande, and asks that he might have that office . . . at the king's pleasure.3) He requests payment of the arrears of a sum due to him, for which he has letters of Guy Ferre, then king's lieutenant in the Duchy of Guyenne.4) He asks that Walter Pereseax, his clerk, might be paid the arrears of a sum due to him for a loan.5) He asks that Walter might be paid the arrears of his wages.6) He shows the council the transcript of a letter he had from the king . . . when he worked the mint at Saint-Macaire.7) He appeals to the king in the matter of a dispute has arisen between him and Arnold de Coupen concerning some corn he sold Arnold for the garrison . . ..8) He asks that Arnold de Coupen might be paid, with expenses. And he requests a letter to the Seneschal that he and his pledge might . . .9) He states that he delivered some corn to Gassie de Samaund, bailli of Peyrehorade, on his wages, and asks that John de Sandale might be ordered to keep as much as this corn amounts to, by the hand of Arnold de Vick, proctor of Arnold de Coupen.10) He states that before the war he had the king's letter for the keeping of the mint at Bordeaux, but that it was lost on the Isle d'Oleron. However, he has the transcript, under the seal of Robert Lesset, then Constable of Bordeaux, who had seen the original. He requests a similar letter to the one he had before the war, sealed with the king's great seal.
