Nature of request
Constance de Bearn, Vicomtesse de Marsan, makes six requests:1) She requests letters patent to the Constable of Bordeaux or his lieutenant, to have reasonable payment in money of Toulouse, according to the current exchange rate in Bordeaux, of the £300 sterliing owed to her for her dower, for which she has an assignment on the customs of Bordeaux.2) She requests letters patent to the Seneschal of Gascony, to maintain and confirm a chaplaincy provided by the testament of Gaston de Bearn from the rents and issues of Gabarret, as she and his other heirs wish it.3) She requests letters patent to the Seneschal of Gascony, to do justice, according to the judgment of the court, in the matter of certain cases begun on her behalf before the war in the court of Saint-Sever, and not determined.4) [Partly illegible] She requests letters patent to the commissaries of Gascony to have restored to her what the king's baillis have occupied unduly in her lands since the beginning of the war.5) [Deleted. Illegible]6) [Partly illegible] She requests letters patent to the Seneschal to maintain her in the graces and privileges granted to her by the king, for which she can show his letters patent.
