Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Bos de Caupenne states that he has been in the king's service during the war in Gascony and during the truce, and that the king owes him a certain sum of money for his wages. He had letters for this sum, but lost them when the king's enemies burnt his houses down one night. He has petitioned on this at York, and was told to inform the council of how many letters he has lost and of what sums of money were contained in them. He has letters of testimony from Barrau de Sescars and Peter Arnold de Wyk, which the king will find enrolled in his rolls. He asks the king to order his clerks to search their rolls.

John de Sandale and Thomas de Cantebrigge are to be ordered to search their books, and to give testimony about what they find by their letters patent.
