de Semynan, Bernard (Bernat)
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Bernard de Semynan states that he appealed Domenjon de Sentes for the death of Arnold de Marsak before the Mayor and bailiffs of Sandwich, but that Robert de Burgaxe, Constable of Dover and Warden of the Cinque Ports, prevented them from hearing the case, claiming that they had no power in so high a case, and were acting in prejudice to the king. He requests a remedy, that his appeal might be heard according to the law and custom of the Cinque Ports.

The Constable of Dover is to be ordered to do true justice to the parties, according to the usages of the country, and according to what it has been customary to do in such a case.
