Nature of request
Copies of three writs of the privy seal in French:1) From Edward III to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer, dated at Nottingham, 30 April, 1 Edward III, asking them to expedite the business of Manent Fraunceis, concerning the purveyance made by him in 15 Edward II, according to the tenor of the writ of the great seal sent to them on this.2) From Edward III to the Treasurer, Barons and Chamberlains, of the Exchequer, dated at York, 23 February, 2 Edward III, to the same effect.3) From Edward III to the Treasurer and Barons of the Exchequer, dated at York, 1 March, 2 Edward III, ordering them to search the commands and bills sent to the Exchequer on the matter of this purveyance, to collect information on Manent's expenses and losses from native and foreign merchants, and to proceed to a final determination of the matter, giving Manent an assignment for any money due to him.
