Nature of request
Ramfre de Durefort, formerly lord of the castle of Bajamont, makes two requests:1) He states that he and his ancestors have always held the castle of Bajamont of the King of England, Duke of Guyenne, but that, at the king's specific command, he has lately delivered it to the Seneschal of Gascony and his lieutenant, to be delivered to the ministers of the King of France, to his great disinheritance. He requests, in compensation, the prevote of Blaye with certain tolls (bladage and carnelage) there, for term of life.2) He states that another castle of his, Belok, was captured with force and arms and completely destroyed by Charles de Valois, father of the present king of France, when he came to Agenais to fight the King of England twelve years and more ago. In compensation he requests the bailiwicks of Penne and Puymirol, with all their appurtenances, for term of life.
Nature of endorsement
He is to have the bailiwick of Puymirol for term of life, at a value of 100 marks per annum, in compensation for his losses.
