Description
Petitioners
Mayor, jurats and community of Bourg.
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
The Mayor, jurats and community of Bourg state that they have always been accustomed to sell their wines and load them in their town, paying the due customs, but that lately the Constable of Bordeaux has had it proclaimed that no-one should ship wines except from Bordeaux or Bayonne, to their great harm. They ask the king to grant that ships might be loaded and merchants buy their wines in their town, paying the traditional tolls and customs, as they used to.
Nature of endorsement
It is to be ordered that a commission is to be granted to the Seneschal of Aquitaine or to his lieutenant to examine the case well and to do justice to them without delay, so that they have no reason to complain further.
