Name(s)

Addressees

Occupation
servant of Peter (Pierre) de Matinaus, merchant of Boulogne
Nature of request
Huguelin Gerard, servant of Peter de Matinaus, merchant of Boulogne, states that because of a false accusation, his goods and chattels, books and remembrances have been held in arrest by order of the council. He has long sued for justice, but has been unable to have justice or deliverance of his goods. He asks that worthy merchants and other good people with knowledge of the matter might be appointed to examine the accusations against him, so that, if they are found to be untrue, he might have delivery of his goods.
Nature of endorsement
This bill is to be sent to Chancery and there, when the parties and others who are to be called have been called and the matter has been examined carefully, what in this touches trade is to be determined by good and loyal merchants, and what touches the common law is to be dealt with and determined by the course of common law; and full justice done on this.
