Nature of request
Isard de Lanplan, Lord of Lalanne, states that the Seneschal and Constable were ordered to inform themselves if Bertram, formerly Lord of Lalanne, had received a sum of money assigned to him by the king's father from the prevote of the Isle d'Oleron, in satisfaction of a debt owed to him by the king; and that they found that he had not. He requests an assignment for this sum from the bailiwick of Pontonx-sur-l'Adour, paying the king the surplus, and that he might hold this in person or through an attorney, in consideration of his service and losses.
Nature of endorsement
By the agreement the Isle will come into the king's hand again, and then the king will do what he ought.

Note
The letters from the Seneschal and Constable informing the king that Bertram had received nothing from the Isle d'Oleron (SC 8/290/14499) are dated 27 March 1331, and the related SC 8/290/14498 is dated to 1332. This petition would therefore seem to date from 1331-1332.
