Nature of request
Arnold de Seint Martin states that when the goods of William de Saut were adjudged to the king for certain reasons, a writ was sent to the Mayor and Sheriffs of London, to John de Sandale, and to Thomas de Cantebrigg to inform the king what goods William had in London; and they informed him that he had both money and letters for debts owed by the king, in the hands of William de Laur, John Blaunk, and John Doleroun. John Blaunk then took an oath that he had none of William's goods, but Arnold asserts that this was false, as can be seen from returns made in Chancery by Ralph de Sandwiz, and states that John should be cried in court because of this.
