Description
Petitioners
Peter (Pey) de Moncaup (Montcam).
Name(s)
de Moncaup (Montcam), Peter (Pey)

King.
Nature of request
Peter de Moncaup makes two requests:1) He states that John de Haustede, Seneschal of Gascony, gave him the land given to the late John de Boiglon by the Earl of Kent, for £300, assuming that it would be worth £700, and he could keep the rest in compensation for his losses, but, for various reasons, it is worth only £400. He asks that he might hold this land for himself and his heirs until he has recovered his inheritance.2) He asks that the Constable of Bordeaux might be ordered to pay him his wages and compensation for horses that he has lost in the war in Gascony.
Nature of endorsement
The Seneschal and Constable are to be ordered that, when they have taken advice on the value and on other things contained in the petition, they are to inform the king clearly and openly, so that the king, informed, can further do for the claimants what is to be done.
