Description
Petitioners
Vidal (Vidau) de la Roke (La Roque).
Name(s)
de la Roke (La Roque), Vidal (Vidau)
Addressees
King and council.
Nature of request
Vidal de la Roke states that because of his service to the king and to his uncle, P. de Galicien, he has lost all his inheritance and other goods, and his houses in Agen have been destroyed. He requests the bailiwick of Aiguillon for term of life in compensation.
Nature of endorsement
The king is to be advised if the bailiwick is in his hand and how much it is worth, and who this is who requests it - if he is worthy to have it; and he is further to do his will.
Places mentioned
Agen, [Guyenne, France]
Aiguillon, [Guyenne, France].
People mentioned
P. de Galicien, uncle of Vidal de la Roke.
Note
From the hand and language this petition would seem likely to date from the aftermath of the war of St Sardos. The petitioner's uncle was probably the Pey de Galicien who was Constable of Bordeaux between September 1329 and July 1331.
