Nature of request
Raymond William de la Farge states that in the king's parliament at Westminster, on 10 January in the fourth year of his reign, he was assigned a certain sum of money owed to him by the king, to be received from the king's exchequer in Bordeaux, as can be seen from the king's letters patent for this. But when he went to Bordeaux to receive payment, Richard de Par, then lieutenant of the Constable of Bordeaux, refused to pay him, as he had a command from the king not to make any payments of any assignments. Raymond William requests a writ to the Constable of Bordeaux to pay him, notwithstanding this order, as he has long been kept from his payment, and cannot trade as he used to for lack of it.
