Petitioners
Gentlemen and other soldiers who were in the war in Gascony and merchants of Gascony, who have lent money to the king for the war.

Nature of request
The gentlemen and other soldiers who were in the war in Gascony and the merchants of Gascony, who have lent money to the king for the war, for which they have letters from the Earl of Lincoln and others his lieutenants, and from the king's clerks, state that they have pledged their letters for their expenses in seeking their payment, and so could not produce them at the parliament at Westminster in the king's thirty-third year to exchange and have payment in Gascony, as was ordained there and ordered to John de Sandale. They ask for some ordinance to allow their letters to be exchanged, so that they can be paid.
Nature of endorsement
John de Sandale was told in the king's parliament at Carlisle to examine and receive the letters that they have from the Earl and others, both for wages and for loans made to the king, and to give them the king's letters patent under the same form and date as those others to whom similar letters were made in the king's parliament at Westminster in the thirty-third year.
