Nature of request
Hugh le Teyntour, Englishman and sergeant general in the Duchy of Guyenne, states that he has long served the king, and has letters patent from the time of John de Haveringg, Seneschal of Gascony, and the time of Stephen Feriol, Seneschal of Gascony, and more special letters from the time of Aimery de Craon, the present Seneschal of Gascony, confirming his office because of testimony of his good behaviour. He asks that the letters of the Lord of Creon, of which a transcript is attached to this petition, might be confirmed by letters under the great seal, to last for term of life or during good behaviour.

He is to have confirmation, to hold at the will of the king during good behaviour, according to the tenor of the letter of the Lord of Creon.

Amaury de Craon was Seneschal of Gascony between July 1313 and August 1316, John de Havering was Seneschal between April 1289 and March 1294, and between October 1304 and August 1308, and Estebe Ferreol was Seneschal between August 1312 and 1313.
