Peter de Galician states that he has served the king's father for fifteen years and more, and has gone to Aragon and Spain on business concerning the honour of the present king and his sisters, at his own expense, and has lost his lands, goods and benefices in the war between the king's father and the king of France. In compensation, he has had only the keeping of the manors belonging to the church of Royan in this country, which have now been restored to the church by the peace made between the king and the king of France. He has also travelled to Gascony, Aragon and Navarre on the business of the king and his mother, again at his own expense. He asks that he might be given as much annual rent as he has lost in the king's service, wherever it pleases the king, until he has been satisfied for his losses, damages, and expenses, and can recover his inheritance and benefices.
Nature of endorsement
With regard to the hardships suffered and expenses incurred in the time of the late king, the king will be advised of those who were of his father's council, for him to have such consideration for the said hardships and expenses as the said master Peter can reasonably expect to receive.With regard to his losses, the king is to be advised.With regard to the hardships suffered and expenses incurred in the time of the present king, they will be shown to the king, and he will have such consideration as is appropriate.

PROME, Appendix of Unedited Petitions, 1307-1337, Rotuli Parliamentorum I, pp. 431-447, no. 44 says 'Almost certainly c. 1327-1330 from the reference to the king's mother'. The petitioner was Constable of Bordeaux between September 1329 and July 1331, and was dead by 28 August 1335 (CCR 1333-7 pp.525-526). The petition is discussed by M Vale, The Angevin Legacy and the Hundred Years War, 1250-1340 (Oxford, 1990), p.253.
