Description

Folios 177-178. Letter from William Cross, Whitfield, [Kent], concerning multiple cases of sheep killing, where Mr Tomlin, of Ash, William Cross, of Whitfield, Mr Kite, of Poulton, and Mr Coleman, of River, have all lost sheep. Cross speculates that these sheep killings are related to the fact that he, and some of the other farmers affected, have been appointed Guardians of the River Board of Guardians established under the new Poor Laws. He asks the government to offer a reward and supply police officers to investigate.
