Folios 173-176. Letter from Mr Harvey, Moretonhampstead, Devon, concerning the murder and robbery of Jonathan May, Sowton Barton, Dunsford, Devon, on 16 July 1835. He states that the inquest has returned a verdict of 'wilful murder against some persons or persons unknown', and that six suspects are in custody. The parishioners have offered a reward of £100 and they ask the government to offer a further reward and pardon to any accomplice giving information. Enclosed are the recommendations of the coroner and jurors for this case, signed with 25 signatures. Further enclosed is a £100 reward handbill.
