- Folio 89. From W Power, District Auditor, to the Poor Law Board. Pre-printed form entitled 'A Statement of the Auditor' in reference to the Books of the Southwell Union kept by Thomas Marriott, Clerk to the Guardians of the Southwell Union, deceased, for the half year ended 25 March 1856.The form lists 'Observations' on the various books. The relief order book, the order check book and the pauper classification book all pass with 'no defects'. Comments are made on 'the other side' of the form on the minute book, general ledger and parochial ledger in which notes and accounts have not been entered and fully made. 'The late clerk appears not to have been well for sometime before the Audit, and died the day preceding it'.Annotated, 18 June 1856, 'put by'.
