Folio 80. Letter from Thomas Pawson, Relieving Officer, Southwell Union, to the Poor Law Board. He acknowledges their letter of 30 April 1856. He states he has not received his expenses incurred in the case of William Noble's admittance to Mickleover Asylum, Derby. He gave the guardians the 'Order of Justices' for payment at their board meeting, but was not paid. The amount of £l:12:0 includes Mr Calvert's fee of 10/6 which he himself paid to the surgeon.Annotated, 11 June 1856: 'Reserve for the present. But what is to be expected'.
