Folio 71. Letter from Thomas Marriott, Clerk to the Guardians of the Southwell Union to the Poor Law Board reporting resolutions passed by the guardians at their meeting of 29 April 1856.
  • Unanimous election of William H Barrow MP as chairman for the ensuing year. Moved by Mr Leeson, seconded by Mr Hunt.
  • Unanimous election of Richard Milward as vice chairman. Moved by Mr Stenton, seconded by Mr Truswell.
The committee should also consist of Mr Stenton, Mr Bradwell, Mr Rawson, Mr Leeson and Mr Jackson. They should have authority over general management of the workhouse, direct necessary repairs and report to Poor Law Board special circumstances that arise.There are 3 short annotated notes added by Poor Law Board to 'put by'.
